Profits generated from these classes will benefit The Michigan Glass Project.

Under the guidance of skilled glass artists, participants will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience manipulating glass through a variety of techniques. These immersive and educational "experiences" will provide individuals with the basic tools to explore the creative potential of glass. From furnace work to flame work, cold work to glass casting, there is something for everyone. After each class, participants will have a unique one of a kind piece of glass art to take home. Sign up solo or do so with friends and family!

FLAMEWORK

Christian Hedman (aka 313 Glass) is a multimedia artist with a focus in glass flameworking. He has been working with glass since 2014, and has been involved with The Michigan Glass Project since 2015. After a brief period at Wayne State University, Christian dropped out to focus on flameworking as a full time career. Over the years he has developed his craft with the help of friends and mentors such as Drew Kups, Jeremy Ross, and Jobe Lodge. Glass is an unforgiving medium that takes a lot of practice, knowledge, and dedication to become proficient in. Christian’s teaching philosophy reflects that, focusing on building muscle memory and a solid foundation of basic skills will help you to feel more confident as you explore more complex forms of glass work.
